Frequently Asked Questions
Does the cover fit well the furniture?
All slipcovers are sewn to fit the furniture perfectly, as well as those delivered by the furniture manufacturer. We have introduced a quality control process which guarantees the best fit of all our products.
What type of fabric are the covers made of?
We use the highest quality fabrics from European Union manufacturers. Whilst creating our Collection we took under consideration their high quality, easy cleaning and abrasion resistance. Our offer includes jacquard, chenille, flat woven and other types of fabrics. You will find a precise description of each fabric including its type, composition, weight, protective technologies used and Martindale Abrasion in the Fabrics section on our website.
Are the colours and patterns presented faithfully?
All fabrics presented on SOFERIA website are presented as realistically as possible. Please note, however, that colours shown on screen may slightly vary depending on your monitor settings. Colour shades may slightly vary from dye-lot to day-lot. As far as the patterns are concerned, their final layout may be slightly different that presented on the picture, depending how the fabric is cut. Should you wish to take a closer look at the fabric, we encourage you to order fabric samples.
How may I order fabric samples?

Are Eco Leather Soferia fabrics same as leatherette?
No. Leatherette is a leather-like material made of PVC, therefore it is characterized by cracking and delamination after prolonged use. Soferia eco-leathers are materials made of 100% high-quality polyurethane, thanks to which they do not crack or delaminate. They are characterized by excellent mechanical properties, are resistant to stretching, tearing and cracking, and have high flexibility.
Are Hydrophobic fabrics the same as Easy Clean fabrics?
Hydrophobic fabrics are not Easy Clean fabrics. Fabrics that do not absorb liquids, marked with the "Hydrophobic" sign, are covered with special Teflon which, in the case of spilled liquid, collects its drops on the surface of the fabric (eg Nordic, Glam). On the other hand, those marked with the "Easy Clean" sign have an advanced protection system, thanks to which all stains can be easily cleaned (eg Naturel, Eco-Leather, Classic, Elegance).
Does more frequent cleaning result in a loss of Easy Clean properties?
With proper use, the Easy Clean coating is active for up to 10 washing / cleaning cycles - which means that the easy cleaning properties, with proper use - can be active for several years, thus the full life of the furniture.
What should you pay attention to when choosing an upholstery fabric?
Choosing the right upholstery fabric is one of the most important factors when buying a cover. It has a significant impact on both the usability of the furniture and its aesthetics. When choosing a fabric, it is worth considering: colour, structure, abrasion resistance, and (in the case of families with children and pet owners) functionality - whether it is an easy-to-clean fabric, water repellent or scratch-resistant. All this information can be found in the description of each fabric in our Store. NOTE: The fabric selection criterion depends on its user. Other features will be taken into account by people who use the purchased piece of furniture sporadically, other parents who are afraid of dirt caused by their children's crazy games, and other owners of dogs and cats. Therefore, before choosing the type of upholstery material, it is worth paying attention to the protective technologies of a given fabric. We also invite you to our Guide, where we try to suggest which fabrics will be appropriate in various situations.
Why should you pay attention to the Martindale cycles when choosing upholstery fabrics?
Depending on the type of upholstery material (e.g. knitted fabric, chenille, flat woven, etc.), a different scale of the number of cycles is adopted. The minimum required for the normal use of the fabric in everyday life is 25 thousand cycles, meaning that any performance above this limit will ensure the fabric's high abrasion resistance.
Can you cover sofas with bedspreads or blankets?
If you want to cover an upholstered piece of furniture with all kinds of bedspreads, blankets, sheets, etc., make sure that the fabric does not have any bristles (surfaces should be smooth), because in the case of non-smooth fabrics, foreign pilling may appear, which is the result of joining the fibres of the furniture fabric with the bedspread fibres. Thus, fibrous "balls" that are difficult to remove may form.
